The busiest hours can create long queues, especially on Saturday evenings, which may deter some from considering a visit. Additionally, while the majority of the service is highly efficient, there are noted instances of delays during peak times, which can lead to some frustration. A few customers have commented on the limited seating during high demand, making the wait feel longer and less convenient. While most find the prices very reasonable, some feel that the options could be expanded further, particularly for vegetarian dishes beyond the existing offerings.
We had lovely fish and chips here. Also tried the SFC, which was great too. The fish was cod, cooked to perfection. The portion was generous, we couldn’t finish it. Really nice and clean. Will definitely be returning.
Read reviews and was worried the Majors we love had gone. Risked it and went. The old owners sold the new owners the name AND the recipe. The owners have changed but this is STILL the Majors that we love with very nice service too. Very happy!
The best place in all the universe. You can eat in or takeaway. The staff are amazing and the service is first class. Food and drink is also excellent.
Major's has been a part of my fish and chip eating history since I was a kid... and the food is still absolutely delicious! Those famous orange chips always hit the spot and the fish is so light and crispy with the batter... notwithstanding that the staff there are always so friendly and helpful! 😜✨️
Great value. And service . Nice to be presented with a choice of cod or hake, I chose the latter. Lovely orange chips. We will return.
the battered chips are just amazing. when the fryer opens and you see the golden goodness you know you are in heaven. the staff are a bit of a laugh too, great prices and the food is superb. Food absolutely amazing !!!! Best chippy I've ever been to.. Battered chips are soooo nice. The " Whale" cod is amazing. Highly recomended .
Definitely order the battered cod—it's cooked perfectly with a crispy texture. The portion sizes are generous. If you're feeling adventurous, try the scallops and don’t miss their SFC which is also a crowd favorite.
